1. We had hoped for a most comprehensive family medical history. In addition we were hoping to get the information surrounding his mystery scar on his left side.
2. We had hoped to gain pictures of his biological family in order to be able to give them to Garrett when he asks later on. We knew it would be easy and cheaper to do this now when the info we had regarding his family was so much more recent. We had concerns that if we waited till Garrett asked that we may not be able to find them as easily.
3. Monica really wanted a baby picture of Garrett. (no success here :-(
This is Garretts biological sister. Her name is Olga. She is two years older than Garrett. We had been told that she was healthy and without any of the medical issues Garrett had and that is why the family kept her. She is a beautiful girl and we see so much of Garrett in her.
This is Garretts biological mother. Her name is Irina. She is 26 years old. She works as a farm hand and did not finish any school past primary school. She smokes and smoked through all her pregnancies. She occassionally drinks but her mother reported that she did not drink during pregnancy. She does use drugs, it was suspected that it is a home-grown derivative of herion that is common in the rural areas of Ukraine. Her mother again reported that she did not use drugs during pregnancy but realisticly we are aware that this is probably not true. We are very saddened but somewhat grateful to know this information so that we can do some research and provide any help to Garrett as soon as possible.
This is Garretts biological father Yevgeniy. He is both Garrett and Olga's father. He is 35 years old. He works with Garretts mother as a farm hand. He too is on drugs. Both he and Irina lived with Irina's parents from before Olga was born to after Garrett was born. They both now live with Irina's great-grandmother. His mother (Garretts biological Grandmother) died 5 years ago from lung cancer.
This is Garretts Grandmother Anna (mothers mother). Here is the clearly the genetic source of his red highlights! She is 44 years old. She is a dish washer at a local childrens camp. She was the most thrilled of all to know that Igor (Garrett) had been adopted. She had two children, Irina and Helen. Their family has always been noted for their long life and good health.
This is Garretts biological Grandfather Anatoly (mothers father). He is 47 years old. He does not work.
This is Garretts biological Great-Grandmother Olga (mothers mothers mother). She is 71 years old. She lives in a "condo" in the center of town. She had 5 children. She is originally from the Rivne region but moved to the Poltova region in 1961 to marry her husband. Her other children live in Kiev.
This is Garretts biological Aunt Helen. (mothers sister). She is 12 years old. She is in the 5th grade. We recognize the uniform and "bows" - these were very common in the little school girls that we saw while we were adopting Garrett.
This is the family home in the outskirts of the Olmenik Village which is in the outskirts of the city of Kremenchuk (where Garretts orphanage was). This is in the Poltova region (called the Poltova Oblast).
