Today was a mix but mostly he is doing great. In between pain medicine he is regaining his pleasant Garrett nature and energy - he even ran (with a slight bull-legged gaint) to see Grandma and Grandpa when they stopped by. But he is still in obvious pain when the meds wear off.
And it is at these points that we are reminded that he has only been with us for such a short time. He has resorted to some of his behaviors that we saw right out of the orphanage. But thankfully when the meds kick him, this behavior ceases. With two exceptions:
1. He wants mommy with him at all times
2. He carries the 3 balloons that Grandma and Grandpa brought him at the hospital with him everywhere!! They are definitely his security blanket at this point. Lets hope the helium can hold out until he is feeling better.
Thank you for all the wonderful prayers and gifts. Garrett is thrilled beyond belief with the second Christmas that has been bestowed on him. He has not yet been able to fully enjoy the gifts yet but if he continues to improve at this rate, it will be no time before he can!

Note the rash on his chin. Poor guy can not go without a face blemish :-( He can not shut his mouth all the due to the swelling on the rough of his mouth, so he drools all the time. And being the neat freak he is, he has to wipe it immediately.
