Almost a year! I cannot believe it!!!! The time has gone so fast but the memories are countless. Today I had the pleasure of watching Garrett fall asleep. He is such a happy and content child and even as he drifts off, he has a permanent smile on his face! It has been awhile since I have stared at him for such a long period of time and been completely overwhelmed with amazement that God has choosen us of all people to get to be his parents! Don't get me wrong, not a day goes by that I do not thank God for the gift of my children. But today I really felt like it was still a dream - almost a year later - that we could be so blessed to have him in our lives.
We are struggling a bit as a family in deciding how we will celebrate his "gotcha" day. Some folks celebrate the court date (9/8) but we decided long ago to celebrate the day he came home (9/30) since Aley was not able to be at court with us. Right now we are leaning towards a simple family only celebration - nothing fancy or elaborate - maybe just a dinner night out.
