The deck work has begun!!!!We are very fortunate to have Shawn staying with us to help with the work. He has recently accepted a new position in St. Louis but his family is still in Wisconsin working to sell their house. I am sure he would have made alternative arrangements if he knew that we were getting ready to start this project!!!!!
And it is not a small project at all. The deck will span the back of the house. Over the patio (see Garretts pic), there will be a "catwalk" with a new door (converted window) out of the kitchen/hearth room. There will be a half stairwell down to the main patio (see Davids pic). The nice part of this main deck is that it will be close enough to the ground that we do not have to put up rails and block the beautiful view of the backyard. The the other half of the stairwell will take you down to the existing patio.
We are so incredibly grateful to my dad for all the help he has given us so far with the deck plans and all the preparations! We could never have done this without him! Thanks Dad!!!!!!
Garrett is having a ball with all this outdoor work and all the mud it is creating!!!!!
