On Monday there was a special package for Garrett. His very own "Going to Grandma's" suitcase!!!! And once he understood that he was spending the night at Grandma & Grandpa's and NO ONE was going with him!!! He was thrilled. Grandma and Grandpa had Garrett "day" and went to the butterfly house and to Faust park to ride the carasaul. And Garrett did great on his first night away from home. Mom on the other hand was a mess! But not as much of a mess as Garrett was when he had to come home. He was feeling so special and having so much fun --- that he did not want to come home!!!!I have always admired my mom for her keen attention to details. She has made so much of an effort to make sure that Aley still feels so special but at the same time balancing spending one-on-one time with Garrett. She reminded me the other day of just how much one-on-one time Aley has received over the years and how important it is for them (and us!) to recongize that need and desire for Garrett! My mom, my hero!
