We had been looking for furniture for the new deck. And much to my sadness, I realized that a really nice set would cost as much if not more than what we paid in materials to build the deck. Just not going to happen. So I hit Craigslist!
$250 for all wood deck furniture - needs to be refinished
4 chairs
5' expandable to 8' table
2 benches
and an outdoor sink.
Great we'll take it - clean lines, looked nicely built. I asked the man "what wood is it?". His reply (and hence the price) - "I have no idea". So David bravely drove to the darker side of town and loaded up the loot.
As soon as I saw it, I had a lovely suspicion. I confirmed it by looking up the label - "Scandanavian Teak Company" --- set is about $5,000-$7,000 retail!!!!! yippie! Just a little hard work and we will have ourselves the best Craiglist find ever!
